eorgia State University is committed to providing
educational, personal and community development that
will enhance the quality of the student-athlete experience.
Georgia State’s Student-Athlete
Development department became just the
second in the nation to be certified at the
highest level by the National Association
of Academic Advisors for Athletics.
The Georgia State program is headed
by Associate Director of Athletics Dena
Freeman-Patton. Also working directly
with the football program are Senior
Academic Coordinator Dusty Bennett,
who coordinates Georgia State’s Student
Affairs programs, and Academic Advisor
Brittany Price.
Georgia State’s commitment to academic
support and student-athlete development
is paying dividends as the Panthers
have enjoyed unprecedented success
in the classroom. GSU’s student-athlete
population has posted a combined
cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or
better for the last five years.
